Swarovski Optik's new spotting scope weighs just 1.5kg – but still packs a huge 75mm objective

Swarovski Optik has unveiled a new spotting scope, the AT Endura 21-65x75, designed to appeal to birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts. This lightweight scope weighs only 1,510g, making it the lightest in its class and a potential game-changer for those who need to carry their optics for extended periods. Despite its lightweight design, the AT Endura retains Swarovski Optik's renowned optical quality and rugged construction.

The scope offers a 21-65x magnification range, providing a 3.1x zoom that should be useful for moving between scanning a wider landscape and zooming in on smaller details at a distance. Its 75mm objective lens ensures a bright image even at high magnifications, which is particularly useful in challenging conditions such as early mornings, woodland environments, or the final light of the day.

Swarovski Optik has placed emphasis on durability, testing the AT Endura for shock, vibration, and drop. The scope's construction is designed for outdoor use, promising reliable performance in challenging situations. Swarovski Optik CEO Johannes Oberdanner emphasized the scope's reliability and optical performance, noting its appeal for birding enthusiasts.

In terms of design, the AT Endura is described as straightforward, with a simple setup, focus, and observe mechanism. This should make it accessible for newcomers to spotting scopes, while still offering the magnification and optical performance that experienced wildlife observers expect. The AT Endura is engineered, constructed, and manufactured in Swarovski Optik's facility in Absam, Austria, and comes with a price tag starting from $2,899 / £2,070.
