SPRM kemuka syor tambah baik tatakelola kepada Felda, 2 anak syarikat

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agency (SPRM) has proposed several management improvements for the Federal Land Development Corporation (Felda) and its two subsidiary companies to enhance the administration of two projects under its agency. The two subsidiaries implicated in the proposal are FIC Supplies Sdn Bhd (FIC Supplies) and FIC Integrated Property Management (FIC IPM).

According to SPRM, the proposal includes restructuring the role of FIC IPM as an independent consulting panel to ensure that all opinions and advice are provided objectively, clearly, and free from any conflict of interest. SPRM also suggests that Felda improve its asset management and business management procedures through the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for method of acquisition via Request for Proposal (RFP) and variation orders.

This step is crucial to ensure consistent, systematic, and coherent processes, aligned with regulations, and established internal controls. The proposal also includes existing procedures related to FIC Supplies' sales transactions to enhance control over the business subsidiary's operations. All the proposed improvements were presented by SPRM's Deputy Chairman I, Maznah Che Muda, at Felda's headquarters.

Felda and its subsidiaries welcomed the proposal as an effort to increase the agency's efficiency and integrity, while stating their commitment to implementing it in the long term. The endorsement of the proposal is attested to in the Management Improvement Report signed by Felda's Deputy Chairman Strategic Services, FIC Syed Fadil Syed Sofi, Executive Manager Syed Fadil Syed Sofi, and SPRM's BPT Chairman Zaki Hassan.
