Speeding School Bus Runs Over 27-Year-Old Woman At Ukhri Tiraha In Jabalpur; Driver Taken Into Police Custody

Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh: A woman lost her life when a speeding school bus reportedly struck her at Ukhri Tiraha in the city on Tuesday. The collision took place under the jurisdiction of Vijay Nagar police station. Witnesses say the wheel of the bus ran over the woman's head, instantly causing her death. The Vijay Nagar police arrived at the scene, seized the school bus, and arrested its driver.

Police have begun an investigation into the tragic incident. Alka Pandey, a resident of Anand Nagar in Gohalpur, was confirmed as the victim through her Aadhaar card. Her family was informed of the incident and the police are probing the circumstances leading to her untimely demise. Reports suggest the woman was present at Ukhri Tiraha when the speeding bus struck her, resulting in fatal injuries and her demise on the spot.

The bus, operated by Little World School, was promptly taken into custody by the police. The incident created a commotion at Ukhri Tiraha, with people gathering around the accident spot. Traffic was disrupted for a brief period as the school bus remained at the scene. Following the accident, the area was secured by police personnel to prevent further chaos at the busy intersection.

The police are investigating whether speeding or negligence on the part of the driver played a role in the fatal accident. Alka's family arrived at the hospital after learning about the accident, and further legal actions will follow after the post-mortem examination.
