Senate GOP campaign chief says ‘cash is king’ as Trump team promises millions to keep majority

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate Republican campaign chairman announced on Wednesday that President Donald Trump's team has assured senators "money will not be our problem" as they head into the midterm elections. MAGA Inc. is planning to pour millions of dollars into battleground races to maintain control of the Senate.

Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina is strengthening ties with President Trump, as Trump makes campaign appearances to rally voters. Republicans are confident they can maintain or even expand their Senate majority, thanks to the substantial investment from Trump's team.

Republicans face an uphill battle in the midterm elections, with many Senate races considered toss-ups. Despite the challenge, Scott remains optimistic, stating that President Trump and his agenda are on the ballot. He emphasized the importance of the investment from Trump's team, saying it is "incredibly helpful."

Republicans are closely watching the Senate map, as once solidly Republican-held states are now being contested. Scott acknowledged the increased competition, citing Kansas as a particularly close race between newcomer Adam Hamilton and incumbent GOP Sen. Roger Marshall. He also mentioned the struggle in Georgia, where Republican Mike Collins is fighting to unseat Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff.

During a private meeting with White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles on Monday evening, Scott reported that she assured GOP senators they would have the necessary resources heading into the final stretch of the election. Scott emphasized that during that meeting, she stated "money would not be our problem."
