Cristiano Ronaldo left Portugal's training camp in Denmark on Wednesday, after coach Jorge Jesus informed reporters that the striker would be omitted for their upcoming match. Ronaldo had been scheduled to train with his teammates at the Parken stadium in Copenhagen the same day but left abruptly following Jesus's press conference.

The veteran coach informed Ronaldo beforehand that he would not start the next Nations League clash against Denmark on Thursday. After a conversation with the Portuguese Football Federation president, Ronaldo declared his departure from the national team's training camp on Instagram. He vowed to eventually share the reasons behind his decision to leave the national team that he had always been committed to.

Jorge Jesus initially claimed there was no rift between him and Ronaldo, but acknowledged the captain's disappointment at being left on the bench during Portugal's Nations League win over Norway. The news caused a surge of memes and outrage on social media, including from Ronaldo's sister, Elma Aveiro, who expressed envy and scorn towards the Portuguese people.
