PTPTN targets stronger Simpan SSPN savings

SHAH ALAM: PTPTN aims to secure RM250 million in Simpan SSPN deposits during its 2026 BMS campaign, a goal derived from deposits collected up to Aug 31 this year. As of Aug 31, the campaign had already amassed RM25.86 billion in deposits, with 7.66 million accounts opened. Norliza Abdul Rahim, PTPTN chairman, emphasized that saving is a proactive measure that provides families with greater flexibility in planning their children's education.

The BMS 2026, now in its ninth year, serves as a platform to encourage parents to plan for their children's higher education, potentially reducing the need for education loans. The 2026 campaign, themed "Under The Sea" and running from Sept 25 to Nov 1, aligns with World Savings Day on Oct 31. The programme features numerous campaigns, promotions, and activities intended to promote Simpan SSPN savings, including the Cabutan WOW! and Cabutan Simpan SSPN Baru Slay! draws.

Norainin Basir, a winner of the latest draw, received RM20,000 and highlighted the importance of financial planning for the future of their three children. Say Han Cheong, a runner-up, received RM10,000 for his contribution to saving for his children. The campaign also promotes various benefits of Simpan SSPN, such as income tax relief, free takaful protection, and a matching grant of up to RM10,000.
