Prince Harry's children targeted by 'European paparazzi' while at school in England

LONDON – Prince Harry’s offspring have allegedly been pursued by "certain European paparazzi" while attending a school in England's countryside, according to his spokesperson. The spokesperson termed the behavior as an "extraordinarily reckless" invasion of the family’s privacy. This is the most recent security concern for Harry, the younger son of King Charles, following their move from California to Britain with American wife Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, just last month.

The family has requested to keep the location of their new residence and their children’s school confidential. Earlier, the children attended a different school due to heavy traffic on the route to the original location, raising security concerns. Harry and Meghan’s spokesperson reported that photographers had surveyed the perimeter of the new school and observed the children in the grounds before stopping.

The British press has generally respected the family’s privacy since the relocation, but the spokesperson noted that "certain European paparazzi appear unwilling to respect the privacy of children at school." Prince Harry, 42, has previously accused the press of contributing to his mother Princess Diana's 1997 death, which occurred when her car crashed while evading paparazzi.

He is deeply protective of his family’s privacy, drawing comparisons to the treatment Meghan experienced. The couple, who relinquished their royal duties in 2020 and became private citizens, desire automatic police protection for their family, similar to other senior royals. Prince William, Harry’s brother and heir to the throne, has also faced similar issues with European paparazzi and has won privacy cases in the past against French magazines for publishing photos of his family while off official duties.
