Police Conference Raises €2,100 for Orihuela Special Education School

Orihuela’s Antonio Sequeros Special Education School has received a generous donation of €2,100 from a charity conference attended by police officers and security professionals from across Spain. The three-day Police Operations and Tactics Conference took place from Wednesday to Friday, organized by Orihuela Local Police and UNIJEMPOL, the local police chiefs and senior officers association.

The conference combined professional training with fundraising efforts for the school. Following the ceremony, Orihuela Local Police chief Rubén Selma presented a symbolic cheque to Orihuela Local Police councillor for Public Safety Mónica Pastor, who in turn passed it to school director Marta Moreno. The €2,100 raised came from registration donations and a "Fila Cero" scheme, allowing supporters to contribute without attending the conference.

Public Safety councillor Pastor emphasized the importance of proper training for Orihuela’s police officers to handle the challenges of policing the municipality. Police chief Selma stressed the need for continuous professional development, highlighting that those in public safety cannot afford to take anything for granted during crises.

The conference brought together police and security services personnel, along with companies and organizations specializing in police training, equipment, and technology.
