Pilot reportedly stabs another on Israel-bound plane, concerns of possible hijacking

Passenger Miryam Shira Ohayon recounted the harrowing ordeal on a flydubai flight bound for Tel Aviv, where the co-pilot attempted to crash the plane, causing it to "pretty much out of control" over Jordan. The co-pilot's actions were aimed at murdering the pilot and causing the plane to crash, according to Ohayon, who provided her account via speakerphone to her mother at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv.

She attributed the plane's recovery to the quick thinking and resourcefulness of the crew and passengers, who subdued the co-pilot and managed to land the aircraft safely in Saudi Arabia. There were no injuries among the passengers, with the sole casualty being the co-pilot. The incident occurred as the flight was en route to Israel, a country with which Saudi Arabia has no diplomatic ties.

The co-pilot's actions were a stark contrast to the efforts of the passengers and crew to neutralize the threat and ensure the safety of everyone on board. One passenger, who sustained a head wound, was heard pleading for help on a video that circulated on Israeli social media, recounting the dangerous descent towards Saudi Arabia and the successful thwarting of the attacker's plans.
