PH sees room for cooperation ahead of Melaka election

The People's Party (PH) believes there is potential for collaboration with any party or coalition, including the Barisan Nasional (BN), prior to the Melaka election. PH's election director, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, mentioned he had conversed with PKR leaders in Melaka and had heard their perspectives. He added that a meeting with BN will take place soon to investigate possible areas of cooperation.

There are strategies to be considered if both coalitions decide to work together. Amirudin needs to finalize discussions with the PKR central leadership council to make a policy decision on the subsequent steps. He informed reporters after the launch of the Selangor Road and Highway Strategic Plan 2026-2035 (Jalur Selangor) that PH could either contest under a common understanding with several parties or focus on their respective areas while reaching agreements with specific parties.

Earlier, reports quoted BN secretary-general Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki as confirming that negotiations and talks about the coalition's direction for the Melaka election were still ongoing, with any developments remaining at the negotiation stage among the leadership.
