PDP senatorial candidate promises jobs, empowerment for Anambra South

Prince Samben Nwosu, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Anambra South senatorial seat in Nigeria's 2027 general election, has outlined his plans for job creation, sustainable empowerment, and grassroots development if elected. Nwosu, a former PDP organising secretary and former Federal Commissioner, addressed journalists during a recent interview at his country home in Nnewi.

His campaign promises to adopt a community-based approach to tackle the socio-economic challenges faced by residents across the seven local government areas that constitute the senatorial district. These areas include Aguata, Ihiala, Ekwusigo, Orumba North, Orumba South, Nnewi North, and Nnewi South. Nwosu emphasized his candidacy as a means to provide quality representation to the people of Anambra South, rather than seeking personal wealth.

He pledged to bring a new representation to the National Assembly and complete the work of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah. The PDP candidate intends to focus on engaging residents, particularly young people, to understand their socio-economic needs. He also promised to establish a long-term empowerment model that would provide economic opportunities for constituents throughout the election cycle, rather than providing short-term assistance.

Nwosu also affirmed his commitment to oppose vote buying and electoral manipulation, urging voters to protect their ballots, and called for a rejection of attempts by politicians to induce voters with money or material benefits. He described the 2027 election as distinct from previous ones, emphasizing that the outcome should not be influenced by political influence or financial inducements.
