Pakistani special forces participate in joint training exercise Eternal Brotherhood-5

Pakistani special forces took part in the multinational exercise Eternal Brotherhood-5, held in Uzbekistan from September 13 to 25, 2026, according to state-run PTV. The exercise involved troops from Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan, with Kazakhstan observing the proceedings. The primary objective of the joint training was to strengthen cooperation, communication, and professional capabilities among the special forces participating, as reported by PTV.

The participating forces also shared knowledge on modern operations, combat strategies, and methods to tackle security challenges. PTV emphasized that Eternal Brotherhood-5 symbolized the deepening defense and security cooperation, mutual trust, and military relations among the participating nations. Pakistan frequently engages in joint training exercises with friendly countries.

In April, Pakistan and Egypt concluded a two-week-long military exercise focusing on counter-terrorism. In January, the 13th Pakistan-US bilateral joint military exercise 'Inspired Gambit 2026' took place, also centered on counter-terrorism. In October 2025, Pakistan and Kazakhstan conducted a two-week-long joint counter-terrorism training exercise to bolster military-to-military relations.

In February, Pakistan and Uzbekistan pledged to continue their mutual participation in joint military exercises and collaboration in professional development, best practices exchange, and military institution collaboration. Last month, Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia finalized a mechanism for joint military training under the trilateral defense pact.
