Oklahoma State wrestling's invitational won't be 'typical just boring tournament'

Stillwater — The OSU Invitational, which marks the beginning of Oklahoma State's 2026-27 wrestling schedule on November 1, will not be a dull tournament. According to wrestling coach David Taylor, the event will have some special touches that have become a trademark at Oklahoma State home duals. Taylor stated, "It's not going to be a typical just boring tournament."

The invitational will feature Gardner-Webb, Little Rock, and SIU-Edwardsville, with Oklahoma State in bracketed competition. The main highlight will be observing how the Cowboy wrestlers perform against each other, as wrestling enthusiasts will be able to see their team in action. Taylor expressed his desire for every Cowboy to have a chance to wrestle, as he believes they could have benefited from additional matches the previous year.

This invitational marks the first opportunity for OSU wrestlers to test their skills against opponents from other institutions, making it an exciting event. Taylor emphasized the importance of continuously finding innovative ways to make the tournament entertaining and engaging.
