NPP sets October 3 for national officers elections

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has laid out the voting schedule and identification requirements for its national officers' elections, set to take place on Saturday, October 3, 2026. The party's National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) announced the details in a notice on September 30. The proceedings will start with the examination of constitutional amendments at 9:00 a.m., followed by the election of national officers at 12:00 p.m. Voting will take place at 31 polling stations, where delegates will elect nine officers: National Chairman, Vice Chairman, General Secretary, National Organiser, National Women's Organiser, National Youth Organiser, National Nasara Organiser, National Treasurer, and National Communications Director.

The Electoral Commission (EC) will oversee the elections and confirm delegates' eligibility before they cast their votes. To participate, delegates must be listed on the official delegates' register and present one of the approved identification documents, such as a Voter ID card, Ghana Card, or NPP party card. The NOEC emphasized that delegates should bring their chosen identification document and allocate ample time for verification prior to the voting process.

Additionally, the committee urged all officers at the constituency, regional, and national levels to ensure that their respective delegates are informed about the voting arrangements. The notice, signed by NOEC Chairman Frederick Opare-Ansah, highlighted the importance of punctuality and cooperation for the successful execution of the electoral programme.
