‘Nobody Wants This’ Rabbi Consultant Slams Adam Brody As An “Ignorant Jew” Over “Free Palestine” Support

Rabbi Steve Leder, who served as a technical advisor on the first season of "Nobody Wants This," criticized actor Adam Brody for his remarks regarding the conflict in Gaza. Leder deemed Brody's comment about the situation being a "genocide" as "ignorant" and urged him to remain silent. In a recent interview with GQ, Brody opined that "it's a genocide" and that he wishes for a free Palestine, acknowledging the distressing toll on life and suffering.

However, Rabbi Leder labeled Brody's response as "shocking" and "disgusting," arguing that there is no genocide in Gaza. "You by your own admission are a relatively ignorant Jew, and your ignorance really showed the other day," Leder remarked, questioning Brody's use of the term "genocide." Brody portrays "Hot Rabbi" Noah Roklov in the Netflix series.

Leder explained that his role was to ensure Brody's character was authentic and that all Judaism-related aspects were accurate. "And by the way, being so flippant about a word like genocide — 'Hey, put me down for genocide,' like you're asking for a table for two at Craig's — is disgusting," Leder added. "If you know nothing about something, you should say nothing about it." Season 3 of "Nobody Wants This" premieres on Netflix on October 22.
