Nicolas Cage Says the Marvel Cinematic Universe ‘Is Becoming a Well-Funded and Glorified WWE’ With 50-Plus Year Olds in ‘Ridiculous Outfits’

Nicolas Cage, the renowned actor, has recently taken to the stage at Fan Expo Dallas to share his thoughts on the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The actor, who has a history of participating in various comic book movie projects, including Ghost Rider and Big Daddy, expressed his opinion on the franchise that has become a global phenomenon.

Cage began his comments by expressing his love for the MCU, acknowledging the immense talent of the actors involved. However, he quickly shifted his focus to the ridiculous outfits worn by the characters and the overall spectacle of the fight scenes. Drawing a comparison to WWE, Cage went as far as to claim that the MCU is becoming a "well-funded and glorified WWE."

While some might argue that Cage's extensive involvement in comic book projects gives him a unique perspective on the matter, others may find his comments to be a bit of a stretch. After all, Cage has donned his fair share of outrageous costumes, including those of Ghost Rider and Big Daddy. In fact, he has even ventured into animated movies, voicing iconic characters like Superman in Teen Titans GO! To the Movies, Dr. Tenma in Astro Boy, and Spider-Man Noir in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Despite Cage's apparent love for the MCU, it remains unclear whether his comments are a genuine expression of his feelings or simply a humorous jab at the superhero genre. Regardless, it seems unlikely that Cage will be making a surprise appearance in Avengers: Secret Wars, as the film is expected to feature its fair share of ridiculous outfits and action-packed scenes.
