New writing club in Los Alcazares invites beginners to join creative group

A new writing club has opened its doors in Los Alcazares, inviting beginners and seasoned writers alike to join creative monthly meetings. David Lees, a fellow Los Alcazares resident, is spearheading the initiative for anyone interested in writing - be it stories, poetry, memoirs, or any other form of creative expression.

David, inspired to try a new hobby that would stimulate his mind, emphasized the importance of writing for older individuals who may find their vocabulary diminishing with age. "Writing makes you search for old friends, old phrases that can conjure up old stories, helping us to relive our memories and yes, some sad ones too, but they are... who we are," he explained.

Andrea Wellington, David's wife, agreed, suggesting that autobiographies could serve as a solid starting point for beginners. "You already have a timeline, you have a written storyboard, and characters lining up to be in your story," she added.

Currently, the club is primarily focused on Los Alcazares, but David is open to suggestions for meeting locations, depending on where the group's interest is strongest.
