New Apple TV comedy has 100% Rotten Tomatoes, here’s the trailer

Apple TV is set to launch a new British comedy series called Small Prophets, boasting a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. This marks Apple TV's rare move of licensing an existing show from another network. Small Prophets originally debuted in the UK earlier this year and quickly became a hit on the BBC, garnering that impressive 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The series is set to premiere on Apple TV on October 7, with its first two episodes followed by weekly releases through November 4. The trailer for the show has just been released, giving viewers a sneak peek at the quirky tale that awaits.

Small Prophets follows the eccentric Michael Sleep, portrayed by actor Charlie Quigley. Since his beloved partner Clea disappeared seven years ago, Michael's life has become rather ordinary. He works at a DIY store, spends time with his dad Brian, and eagerly awaits Clea's return. One day, Brian shares an old recipe involving rainwater, horse manure, and a touch of alchemy.

Intrigued, Michael decides to create homunculi, magical spirits that are believed to have the power to predict the future. With this recipe in hand, Michael sets out on a quest, albeit with some skepticism, to bring Clea back into his life. The series was conceived, written, and directed by Mackenzie Crook, who is also known for his work on Detectorists, The Office (UK), and Pirates of the Caribbean.
