NASCAR suspends 2 people indefinitely for attacking Corey Heim at Martinsville

NASCAR has suspended two individuals indefinitely for attacking 23XI Racing driver Corey Heim during a race at Martinsville Speedway on Saturday, September 26. Chad Bryant, team owner of Chad Bryant Racing, and crew member Steven Civitarese are barred from all NASCAR events, including the upcoming ValleyStar Credit Union 300. They have been fined $2,000 and $1,000 respectively, with Bryant required to complete NASCAR-approved anger management training.

Dylan Jenks and Ryan Lapcevich received $500 fines each from the incident. Additionally, Brad Housewright, Chase Burrow, and Ryan Burrow were fined $250 each for a separate fight in the garage area. All seven individuals have been placed on one-year probation. The altercation occurred when Treyton Lapcevich's car collided with Heim's during a pit road cool-down lap, resulting in both cars being severely damaged.

Video footage showed Bryant and two other crew members from 23XI Racing throwing punches at Heim near the infield hot dog stand. Heim managed to evade most of the blows but declined to retaliate. After the incident, Heim posted photos of the hot dog stand menu sign on social media, expressing his disappointment. NASCAR drivers Tony Stewart and Dale Earnhardt Jr. have condemned the actions of Bryant and his crew, calling them "classless" and "idiots."
