Mumbai FDA Suspends Radhakrishna Hotel Licence After Alleged Dead Rat Found In Mysore Masala Dosa, Hygiene Violations

The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has suspended the license of Radhakrishna Hotel near Borivali West railway station following an inspection that uncovered multiple hygiene-related violations. The decision came after a customer reported finding a dead rat inside a Mysore masala dosa served at the establishment. The incident was reported to the Borivali Police Station, which then forwarded the complaint to the FDA for appropriate action.

The Radhakrishna Hotel, situated opposite Goyal Shopping Center on L.T. Road near Borivali West railway station, is facing severe repercussions due to unsanitary conditions, including unhygienic practices, the presence of flies, food items kept on the floor, poor storage conditions, and clogged sewage. Maharashtra's Health Department plans to utilize counterfeit drug detection devices to ensure the quality of medicines in government hospitals.

The FDA Commissioner, Tukaram Mundhe, stated that action against the restaurant would be taken following the complaint. This incident is part of a broader food-safety enforcement drive across Maharashtra, focusing on eateries and food establishments to address concerns regarding hygiene, sanitation, and pest control. Several other Mumbai establishments have also had their licenses suspended during these ongoing inspections.
