Msheireb Museums organizes 'Between the Architectures' Exhibition in collaboration with al markhiya gallery

Msheireb Museums and al markhiya gallery have collaborated to present the solo exhibition "Between the Architectures" in Doha. The exhibition showcases the works of Qatari artist and urban planner Mubarak Al-Thani, exploring the intersection of architecture, urban landscapes, memory, identity, and place.

Al-Thani's paintings and sculptures deconstruct and reimagine architectural forms using geometric structures, repetition, patterns, shifting lines, density, proportion, and depth. These elements help audiences understand how places are built, experienced, and remembered, with his perspective evolving over time.

Mohammed Al Yousef, Manager of Operations and Visitor Relations at Msheireb Museums, emphasized the museum's commitment to supporting Qatari artists and creating meaningful spaces for their work. He highlighted the exhibition's role in connecting Qatar's architectural heritage with contemporary creative expression, providing audiences with new ways to experience the evolving story of their city.

Al-Thani reflected on Doha as a city with two timelines - heritage and the contemporary - where his work exists in that space between what is built and what is remembered. He expressed his honor in presenting his work at Msheireb Museums in collaboration with al markhiya gallery, situated in the heart of Doha. Al-Thani's work focuses on the architecture and spaces that contain and respond to human needs.

Anas Kutit, Managing Director at al markhiya gallery, praised Al-Thani's practice for bringing a unique perspective as both an urban planner and an artist. His understanding of city structure, growth, and evolution provides depth to his work.
