MP’s Bagh CHOs Submit Memorandum Over Salary Delays, Vaccination Duties And Funds

In Bagh block of Madhya Pradesh, Community Health Officers (CHOs) have submitted a memorandum to the Chief Medical and Health Officer and the Block Medical Officer, Dr Nitin Shrivastava, at the Community Health Centre. The delegation, led by CHO organization president Jayanti Ginawa, expressed various concerns and workplace issues.

The CHOs were directed by officials to carry out vaccination work, despite guidelines from the National Health Mission defining their responsibilities. They sought clear directives to alleviate confusion and mental stress. The delegation demanded that hired Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) conduct routine vaccinations at sub-health centres, without employing additional ANMs, and receive a monthly stipend of Rs 450, as per Central government norms.

The CHOs also called for the timely transfer of funds approved under the National Health Mission budget to authorized vendors for essential supplies and services at sub-health centres. They emphasized the need for timely salaries, as delays of two to three months have caused financial difficulties. Additionally, the CHOs sought prompt deposit of Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) for contractual employees and advance funds for health centres scheduled for National Quality Assurance Scheme (NQAS) certification. Several CHOs participated in the memorandum submission process.
