Mara-sponsored student's eVisa issue resolved, says Asyraf Wajdi

KUALA LUMPUR: The eVisa issue affecting a Mara-sponsored student set to study at King's College London (KCL) in the United Kingdom (UK) has been resolved, according to Mara chairman Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki. The student will depart for the UK on Saturday to commence his studies as initially planned. Mara has taken immediate action to ensure the student's education remains uninterrupted.

The eVisa problem was a temporary technical matter that has been rectified through prompt action with the relevant authorities. Mara has also arranged a new flight ticket to facilitate the student's journey to the UK. Asyraf reiterated Mara's commitment to supporting all its sponsored students, including those in the Young Talent Programme (YTP), in beginning their studies at prestigious universities worldwide.

The institution spends over a year preparing these students, and any matter threatening to disrupt their studies receives immediate attention and action from Mara. Mara will continue monitoring the student's journey until his arrival at KCL and ensure that all matters related to his studies proceed as scheduled. The organization acknowledges the concerns raised regarding the issue and assures that follow-up action has been taken to guarantee the student's uninterrupted pursuit of his studies.

The incident involving Mara-sponsored student Muhammad Naqiuddin Fitri went viral on social media after he was unable to board his flight to the UK last Sunday due to his eVisa being cancelled during the check-in process at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
