Macklemore Says ‘Free Palestine’ Tour ‘Sold Out Immediately’: ‘Art Will always Be a Form of Resistance’
All three dates in Dublin, Paris, and London have sold out
Macklemore's "Free Palestine Tour" has immediately sold out all three European performances announced for October 26, 29, and 30. The rapper teased that official lineups of artists joining him on stage are "coming soon." The sold-out dates follow a tumultuous month for Macklemore, who was removed from Ed Sheeran's U.S. tour after stating "Free Palestine" during a September 4 show in New Jersey.
Sheeran's subsequent address of the Gaza conflict as "catastrophic and unjustifiable" led to the departure of other opening acts. Proceeds from the three sold-out shows will support a dozen organizations aiding Palestinians, including Gaza Soup Kitchen, Medical Aid for Palestinians, and the Palestine Children's Relief Fund.
