KCSA: no large-scale restoration of Marriage Palace in Kyiv, funds only for building conservation

The Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) has denied rumors of a large-scale restoration of Kyiv's Central Marriage Palace, estimating that only conservation work will be undertaken. The administration clarified that the UAH 280 million previously reported for the project does not align with the actual plan, which will focus on essential preservation efforts.

Of the UAH 48.9 million allocated for 2026, only funds for conservation will be utilized, with the remainder redirected to the city's primary needs. Full restoration and the renovation of a modern, barrier-free Marriage Palace are expected to occur once security and financial conditions allow. The KCSA confirmed that the palace, a cultural heritage site returned to the territorial community in 2024, has not been comprehensively repaired since 1986.

A tender for the restoration, which included the installation of new stained-glass windows, was published on Prozorro on September 24, with the Restoration and Architectural-Restoration Construction Association Ukraine-Restoration emerging as the sole bidder.
