Katie Boulter’s record against Karolina Muchova ahead of their match at the China Open

Katie Boulter, representing Britain in the China Open, secured a solid victory over qualifier Mai Hontama on Wednesday, advancing to the second round. Boulter, one of just two British players in the main draw, won the match 6-3, 6-4. This marks only her third victory since qualifying for the Queen’s Club Championships semi-finals in June.

The next challenge for Boulter is a clash with world number seven Karolina Muchova, who breezed past Hontama in the first round. The two British players have only met once before, at the Miami Open, where Muchova emerged victorious with a score of 6-3, 7-5. More recently, Muchova outclassed Boulter again in the US Open second round, winning 6-0, 6-1.
