It's not even out yet, but Valve's Deadlock just became one of the most played games on Steam

Valve's new MOBA game, Deadlock, might not have a full release yet, but a recent update has propelled it to one of the most played games on Steam. Yesterday, Valve unveiled the City Never Sleeps update, which significantly revamped the map, added six new heroes, introduced fresh voice lines, and included various HUD and quality-of-life enhancements.

Despite still lacking a release date, those with access to Deadlock flocked to it, surpassing 228,086 concurrent players on SteamDB, the highest figure in the game's history. The community embraced the update, particularly the new voice lines, which more than doubled the character interaction lines. On Reddit, fans shared their favorite highlights, expressing delight at the increased personality of the oddball characters.

Additionally, the New York-inspired map, Cursed Apple, received a visual overhaul. The central blue lane is now Broadway, the green lane is Greenwich, and the yellow lane is York, with smaller districts like the Theatre, Chinatown, the Haunted Lot, and the Plaza, each featuring unique Haunts that match the new theme. As Deadlock gains traction on Steam, one can only imagine how big the game could become on its eventual full release.
