Inaccurate reporting undermines the work of Ad Hoc Committee: Diko

African National Congress MP Khusela Diko has criticized inaccurate reporting that has mischaracterized her proposal for suspended Police Minister Senzo Mchunu to be exonerated. Diko suggested in Parliament that a submission be added to the draft report regarding National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola, who allegedly failed in her duties by not challenging Mchunu's directive to disband the Political Killings Task Team.

Diko stated that these allegations were malicious and have undermined the work of the Ad Hoc Committee. The committee has already found extensive evidence against Mchunu, resulting in several criminal referrals. Diko emphasized that the ANC caucus is not targeting Masemola and clarified that the party's submission was made unaware that the National Prosecuting Authority would later drop the charges against Masemola.
