Imran H Shaikh Takes Charge as BankIslami’s President &Chief Executive Officer

BankIslami, a rapidly expanding Islamic financial institution in Pakistan, has recently announced the appointment of Imran H Shaikh as its new President and Chief Executive Officer. With over two decades of experience in the industry, Shaikh has previously served as the Bank's Deputy Chief Executive Officer, playing a crucial role in its growth over the years.

He has focused on expanding BankIslami's presence nationwide, prioritizing the provision of Shariah-compliant financial services. During his tenure, he has also emphasized the Bank's digital transformation, including upgrading the core banking system and the launch of Pakistan's first Islamic Digital Banking Platform. These initiatives have earned BankIslami numerous national and international awards, including recognition as Pakistan's Best Islamic Bank and Best Islamic Digital Bank by the Euromoney Islamic Finance Awards in 2025 and 2026, respectively.

Speaking about his appointment, Shaikh expressed his gratitude to the Board and sponsors for entrusting him with leading the Bank and advancing Islamic banking in Pakistan.
