These encounters allowed them to learn about ongoing and upcoming shipbuilding projects and understand the necessary procedures and requirements for integration into Spanish shipyards' supply chains.
The Greek companies discovered a shipbuilding market with robust orderbooks, a high technological level, and substantial requirements for new, dependable, and adaptable suppliers. Spanish shipyards are currently developing various vessels, including research and oceanographic vessels, fishing vessels, passenger/ro-ro ferries, tugboats, patrol vessels, warships, and support vessels, as well as intricate repair and conversion projects.
Navantia in Ferrol was a focal point during the mission. Following their meeting, Navantia promptly sent Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) to Greek companies to explore potential cooperation opportunities. The mission falls under HEMEXPO's continuous internationalisation programme, initiated in 2014 through national pavilions at major maritime exhibitions, targeted business missions, and networking activities in significant markets worldwide.
HEMEXPO's Executive Director, Mr. Christos Papakis, expressed admiration for the high technological level of the current projects in Spanish shipyards.
