From six engineering students to 10M users: Tryp.com raises €1.9M

Traveltech startup Tryp.com has secured €1.9 million in new funding led by Point Capital Partners. The round brings the company's total funding to €5.9 million. Initially founded in 2021 by six engineering students in Odense, Denmark, Tryp.com now operates from Copenhagen and has a licensed travel agency in Lisbon.

The AI-native online travel agency builds and books complete multimodal trips, including flights, trains, buses, ferries, stays and transfers, all in a single booking. Its engine tracks over 80 million fares across various modes of transport, as well as 28 million accommodations, before combining them into one seamless trip.

Tryp.com's recommendation engine, personalized "For you" feed, and 24/7 support through AI assistant Sandra have proven highly effective, with 50% of bookings coming from users who never even typed a search. After just four interactions, the platform's personalization model increases suggested trip clicks by nearly three times.

Since its launch, Tryp.com has rapidly grown, reaching 10 million users and generating sales four times higher on average annually since 2022. In 2026 alone, sales have more than tripled, with September sales reaching €1.2 million, up from €1.2 million in all of 2024.

Company co-founder and CEO André Rangel de Sousa expressed excitement about the new funding, noting that the technology will now be available to more partners. Investment Manager Pedro Ceia from Point Capital Partners praised Tryp.com's unique position in the travel search and booking space, highlighting its strategic partnership with Wizz Air. The company's co-founders, described as "A-players," have consistently executed their vision, and the new funding will allow Tryp.com to expand into new markets.
