France trip: Tinubu has set bad precedent, NASS big rubber stamp – Rufai Oseni

Arise Television's Morning Show anchor Rufai Oseni has criticized President Bola Tinubu for failing to formally transfer power during his recent absence from Nigeria, setting a "bad precedent." Oseni also criticized the National Assembly, specifically the Senate under President Godswill Akpabio, for not holding Tinubu accountable for the issue.

He stated, "President Tinubu has set a bad precedent by not handing over after 21 days. Moreover, the National Assembly, which is a big rubber stamp — and let me use the word, a placeholder National Assembly — has set an equally worse precedent by not holding him accountable." Oseni questioned the Senate President's role during Tinubu's absence, noting that both the Senate President and Vice President were often out of the country.

He added, "There was a time, even he was in Rome, the Vice President was out of the country, and President Tinubu was in France." Oseni further criticized the public reception given to Tinubu upon his return, stating that supporters welcomed him despite the controversy surrounding the constitutional requirement for a transfer of power, saying, "And how did the supporters pay him back when he came?
