Flames general manager Craig Conroy seeks scoring boost in Saddledome sendoff season

Calgary Flames General Manager Craig Conroy emphasized the need for increased scoring as the NHL team prepares for its final season in the Saddledome. Conroy, entering his fourth year as GM, stated that the team's youth movement aims to set the stage for success in the new Scotia Place arena. The Flames, who were the lowest-scoring team in the NHL last season, failed to make the playoffs for a fourth consecutive year.

Conroy highlighted the importance of the team's young players, such as Matt Coronato, Joel Farabee, and Martin Pospisil, to step up and contribute more goals. Head Coach Ryan Huska expressed confidence in both Dustin Wolf and Devin Cooley, the starting netminders for Thursday's game against the Seattle Kraken. Backlund will continue as captain for the fourth straight season, with Jonathan Huberdeau and Zach Whitecloud serving as alternates.
