EOCO declares John Bitar Gyamfi wanted over alleged fraud, money laundering

In a recent Facebook post, the Managing Director of the Cocoa Marketing Company (Ghana) Limited, Wisdom Kofi Dogbey, clarified that he is not the individual named "Wisdom Dogbey" who is wanted by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO). In his post, Mr. Dogbey explained that media reports linking him to alleged offenses such as defrauding by false pretences and money laundering were in no way related to him.

He emphasized that the similarity in names could lead to confusion and unintentional association with the reported case. Mr. Dogbey urged media outlets, digital platforms, and the public to exercise caution and verify identities thoroughly before attributing such reports to individuals. He expressed his commitment to his duties at CMC and the company's endeavors to enhance Ghana's standing in the global cocoa trade. Mr. Dogbey also thanked those who had sought clarification regarding the matter.
