Dubai-based Italian golfer Guido Migliozzi has praised the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for its efforts to make golf an accessible and popular sport in the region. In an interview with Gulf News, Migliozzi highlighted the country's investment in top-notch courses and facilities, as well as its commitment to bringing major tournaments and world-class players to the area.

Migliozzi, who now calls Dubai home, emphasized that the UAE's success extends beyond hosting big events and star players. He pointed out that the country's long-term perspective and efforts to grow participation, attract younger fans, and integrate golf into the broader sporting culture are equally impressive. "They've looked at the sport from a long-term perspective," Migliozzi said.

"But it's not just about hosting big events. There's a real effort to grow participation, introduce younger people to the game, and make golf part of the wider sporting culture."

Migliozzi has achieved notable successes in his professional career, including his first European Tour win in 2019 and a fourth-place finish at the 2021 US Open. However, he remains hungry for more major victories and acknowledges that his motivation can shift depending on his form. "As a pro golfer, there's always unfinished business when it comes to the Majors," he noted.

In addition to his golfing endeavors, Migliozzi also discussed his partnership with Omega, a company he admires for its commitment to precision. He noted that the dedication to small details in golf, just as in watchmaking, can make a significant difference in performance. "For me, one of the biggest things in golf is being able to find consistent precision," Migliozzi said.

"Every professional can hit great shots, but the real challenge is doing it over and over again throughout four rounds. When the pressure is on, that's when performance matters."

Migliozzi expressed his desire to enjoy his golfing career while striving for success in the upcoming years. "Primarily I want to enjoy my career as a golfer," he said. "I love the game and I want to embrace the life I have. I do feel fortunate and I want to make the most of every opportunity in the game." Despite the time-consuming nature of golf, Migliozzi emphasizes the importance of maintaining a balanced life, including family, friends, and personal well-being.
