Düsseldorf: In the days leading up to inflation data, investors remain cautious and only briefly step away from their reserves. On Wednesday afternoon, the DAX index stood at 25,500 points. After the market opened, the leading index gained a few points, but these were quickly reversed in the morning. Throughout the week, the German stock market has shown little movement.

September is typically the weakest month for the stock market. Just four weeks ago, the leading index hit a record high of 26,618.74 points. However, ongoing uncertainties stemming from the Middle East conflict have significantly weighed on markets. This is evident in the 200-day line, which serves as the average of the period and represents the long-term trend.

Currently, the line is hovering around 25,634 points. Should the leading index rise above this level, it suggests a broader upward trend. Conversely, falling below it indicates a broader downward trend. Thomas Altmann, a portfolio manager at QC Markets, notes that investors are currently struggling to decide which side to take, with the fear of choosing incorrectly posing a significant hurdle.
