Court remands alleged fake agency DG in Kuje prison

The Accra Circuit Court Two has ordered three individuals into police custody in connection with the alleged robbery of gold and gold concentrate. The accused are Clinton Mawuli Ashirow, alias Onana, 32, Prince Duker, 33, and Nelson Gyedu, 20. They have been charged with conspiracy and robbery, with their pleas not taken. Ashirow and Gyedu were previously involved in alluvial mining, while Duker operated as a mobile money vendor.

The three are scheduled to appear before the court on October 12, 2026. Their alleged partner, known as "Abolo" or "Trouble", remains at large. On September 2, police personnel from the National Police Intelligence Directorate, Ashanti North Regional PID, and Dodowa PID conducted coordinated intelligence-led operations, resulting in the arrest of the three suspects at their hideouts near Obuasi.

During the operation, police recovered two AK-47 assault rifles, one submachine gun rifle, five magazines, and one magazine containing 30 rounds of live AK-47 ammunition. Additional magazines and ammunition were also seized. Efforts are ongoing to locate the other suspects involved in the robberies, according to the prosecution.
