Court orders Wike’s son to produce passport in alleged $2.1m fraud case

A High Court in the Federal Capital Territory has ordered Jordan Ezenwo Nyesom-Wike, the son of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, to produce his American passport during the trial of an alleged $2.1 million fraud case. The suit, CV/008/2026, was filed by Safwan Garba GY and GY Global Oil and Gas Nigeria Limited against Jordan.

According to the claimants, they met Jordan in London and later in Abuja, where he allegedly promised to help them acquire land in the capital. The claimants allege that Jordan demanded $2.1 million in exchange for the land, with $2 million going to his father, the FCT Minister, and $100,000 for himself. They claim that after Jordan received the money on September 26, 2025, he failed to deliver the land and went into hiding.

During the court proceedings, Jordan denied all allegations and asserted that he was not in Nigeria on the specified date. When asked about the passport, he confirmed it was his American one, but stated he could produce it if requested. The court ordered the passport to be presented. The case stems from a joint venture agreement signed on October 17, 2025, for the construction of 24 duplexes on 1.7 hectares of land at Guzape New Extension and Katampe New Extension.

The claimants allege that the defendant misled them into paying the large sum of cash, which they later discovered was for plots not owned by the defendant.
