Cabinet holds weekly meeting

Doha, Qatar - On a Wednesday morning, Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, convened the weekly Cabinet meeting at the Amiri Diwan. Following the session, Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi, Minister of Justice and State for Cabinet Affairs, provided an update.

The Cabinet deliberated on several key agreements. It endorsed a draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mexico's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, focusing on diplomatic training and education cooperation. Additionally, the Cabinet approved a draft MoU between Qatar's government and Spain's Kingdom, aimed at fostering peace, reconciliation, and mediation.

Lastly, the government of Qatar and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) reached preliminary agreements on hosting the 2026 ITU Plenipotentiary Conference, set to take place in Doha from November 9-27, 2026.

To wrap up the meeting, the Cabinet reviewed three reports, each prompting specific decisions. The first report detailed the 2025 achievements and work programs of the Communications Regulatory Authority. Second, it covered the outcomes of the 10th extraordinary meeting of the GCC Health Ministers Committee, held in June 2026. Lastly, the meeting addressed the results of Qatar's participation in the 29th Arab-German Economic Forum, which took place in Berlin in June 2026.
