BREAKING: Fake Agency Scandal: Adeyemi finally appears in court for arraignment

Adeniyi Adeyemi, the Director-General of the alleged fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), has pleaded not guilty to forgery-related charges brought against him by the Nigeria Police Force. The case was transferred from the police to the Attorney-General of the Federation (OAGF) during the arraignment before Justice Umar Mohammed.

Prosecutors stated that the case against Adeyemi, along with two other individuals, was initiated due to alleged forgery and impersonation. The court has set October 12 and 13 for the bail application and trial hearing. Witnesses from various backgrounds, including the Chief of Staff to the President, are expected to testify. Adeyemi claimed that he was demanded financial payments and referenced the PFIPC and Presidential Economic Advisory Council in the 2026 Appropriation Act, questioning the government's stance that these organizations never officially existed.

The case is part of a broader investigation by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) into the alleged scheme.
