Ayob Khan, Shuhaily to lead FAM integrity committee

Former deputy IGP Khan Mydin Pitchay and Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency director-general Shuhaily Zain will lead the Football Association of Malaysia’s (FAM) integrity committee for the remaining term of 2025-2029. Pitchay, who retires from the police force in July after a 35-year career, rose to prominence as head of the Bukit Aman counter-terrorism division from 2016 to 2020.

Zain previously headed Bukit Aman’s criminal investigation department for two years before joining AKPS in June 2023. The decision follows a forgery scandal last year, where seven naturalized Harimau Malaya players were penalized by FIFA for using falsified birth certificates to secure their eligibility for the 2027 Asian Cup qualifier against Vietnam.

FAM president Ab Ghani Hassan, who chaired the executive committee meeting for the first time, also confirmed that Noor Azman Rahman will continue as FAM secretary-general and Ismail Karim as treasurer. Ghani, elected for another term on September 17, will chair multiple committees, including finance and management and national football team management, amid the ongoing leadership transition following the previous leadership’s resignation in July.
