(Asiad) S. Korea collects 2 archery medals; men's football team reaches final

NAGOYA, Japan, Sept. 30 (Yonhap) -- South Korean archery teams secured two medals at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Wednesday, beginning the country's medal rush. Park Jung-yoon, Park Ye-rin, and Kang Yeon-seo earned bronze in women's compound team events, surpassing India and China with a score of 229-228 in the third-place match at Okazaki Chuo Sogo Park Multipurpose Square.

The same trio then claimed silver in the mixed team event, narrowly losing 20-19 to India after tying 157 in regular play during a shoot-off. On the first day of judo, Jang Se-yun secured South Korea's first silver medal by defeating Uzbekistan's Sita Kadamboeva via ippon in the final, falling short of a gold medal. In sport climbing, Lee Do-hyun secured South Korea's second medal, earning silver in the men's boulder event, while Jeong Ji-min added bronze in the women's speed event.

The country also took two bronze medals in cycling, with Kim Min-jeong, Jang Su-ji, Noh Yun-seo, and Shin Ji-eun winning the women's team pursuit event, and the men's team of Park Sang-hoon, Hong Seung-min, Kim Hyeon-seok, and Kim Kyeong-ho claiming bronze in their respective race.
