(Asiad) Archery medalist says is grateful to be back in sport after quitting as teenager

Park Jung-yoon, a 29-year-old South Korean archer, shares her gratitude for returning to her beloved sport after quitting as a teenager. Now an accomplished archery medalist, Park reminisces about her decision to explore other pursuits during middle school. After four years of pursuing other interests, she realized that archery was her true calling.

At the age of 25, Park rekindled her passion for the sport by joining an amateur club that met on weekends. She eventually left her daytime occupation to dedicate herself fully to becoming a national team athlete.

Park made history by securing a spot on the national team for the compound discipline, a feat that led her to compete in the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. Four years after her return to archery, Park emerged victorious, claiming two medals - silver in the mixed team event and bronze in the women's team event. Reflecting on her journey, Park expressed no regrets about her decisions, stating, "I am grateful to be doing something I love for a living."
