Arizona basketball makes pitch to 5-star recruits Wabbington, Diggs

The Arizona Wildcats are actively courting two top prospects, Darius Wabbington and Adan Diggs, to join the team. The Wildcats recently hosted a Red-Blue Showcase for these priority recruits, but they still face stiff competition from other schools.

Diggs, who is considered a five-star guard from Goodyear Millennium, had initially planned to visit up to six different schools. However, he has now narrowed his list to include visits to Arkansas and Kentucky. Similarly, Wabbington, a five-star center from Phoenix Sunnyslope, had already visited Illinois and Indiana. He mentioned that his visit to Arizona was a "good weekend" and that the Wildcats wanted him to play all four positions.

On the other hand, four-star center Kamsi Awaka from Phoenix Sunnyslope may be closer to making a decision after completing a recruiting tour that included visits to UConn, Florida, Michigan State, and Michigan. Meanwhile, four-star guard Jason Gardner Jr. has committed to the Auburn Tigers, choosing the university over several other options including DePaul, Florida, Indiana, and Stanford.

The Wildcats have scheduled their first basketball game for November 2 against UCLA in Las Vegas, with coverage on TNT, TruTV, and HBO Max. The women's basketball team will face Stanford on November 2 at 11:30 a.m. in a four-game event at the Las Vegas T-Mobile Arena, with CBS Sports Network providing coverage.
