66th Independence: ‘Joy will surely come in the morning’ – Labour Party to Nigerians

As Nigeria commemorates its 66th Independence, the Labour Party (LP) has offered a message of optimism to its citizens, assuring them that joy will come in the morning despite ongoing challenges. The party acknowledged the numerous economic and security issues that weigh heavily on the nation, some of which stem from ineffective leadership and governance in the past.

However, LP emphasized that the country's continued existence as one indivisible nation, despite these difficulties, speaks volumes about the collective resolve and understanding among its citizens that their strength lies in unity and diversity.

Ken Eluma Asogwa, the party's National Publicity Secretary, expressed that while Nigerians are currently facing significant economic and security challenges, the Labour Party urges its citizens not to lose hope. The statement stressed that for a people who have endured years of misrule, surrendering hope for their country would be a double tragedy.

LP insisted that meaningful change can only occur if citizens take responsibility for holding their leaders accountable, a task that requires active engagement rather than resignation or despair.

The Labour Party asserted that the path to salvation and succour lies in looking towards the party for exemplary leadership. They have presented a slate of very competent and credible candidates for the upcoming general elections, ranging from the presidential to the state assembly positions. The party appealed to those in positions of authority to govern with empathy, justice, and transparency, emphasizing that no nation has ever achieved true development without prioritizing the welfare and wellbeing of its citizens.

LP reaffirmed its faith in the Nigerian people and the nation's capacity to overcome its current challenges and fulfill its immense potential.
