3 terrorists killed in IBO in KP's Mir Ali: state media

Security forces in North Waziristan, Pakistan eliminated three terrorists during an intelligence-driven operation in the Mir Ali region, according to state broadcaster PTV. The terrorists were linked to the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), and their hideouts were targeted in the Mir Ali area and nearby locations. The operation resulted in the recovery of a significant amount of weapons and ammunition, security sources reported.

In addition to the successful elimination of the terrorists, security forces also thwarted an attempt by the militants to intercept a ration truck near the Mir Ali Bazaar, as detailed by PTV. The force remains committed to the counter-terrorism campaign 'Azm-e-Istehkam' to completely eradicate terrorism.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for their successful operation in Mir Ali, with Zardari emphasizing that the fight against terrorism would continue to ensure peace in the nation. Sharif highlighted that eliminating terrorism remained the government's top priority.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has faced numerous terrorist attacks and security challenges over time. In August alone, the province recorded 54 terrorist attacks, compared to 36 in July, indicating a 50% increase. A day earlier, in an operation in Bara area of KP, security forces killed five terrorists. On a separate occasion, four terrorists were killed during an operation in Dera Ismail Khan on Monday, leaving eight people dead and 35 injured in a suicide blast targeting the Aman Mela police checkpost in DI Khan’s Darazinda tehsil.
