’24 Jump Street’ and Ridley Scott’s ‘Treasure Island’ Get 2027 Release Dates From Sony

Sony Pictures unveiled an assortment of fresh release dates and adjustments to its film schedule on Wednesday. Among the announcements, the comedy "24 Jump Street" is set to premiere on December 10, 2027, while the adventure "Treasure Island" will make its debut on November 11, 2027. Other upcoming films include "The Surgeon," which will open on April 2, 2027, and "Narcs," premiering on August 20, 2027.

Additionally, the video game adaptation of "Helldivers," directed by Justin Lin and starring Alan Ritchson, will shift from its original 2027 release date to June 9, 2028. Likewise, "Grandgear," a movie directed by Takashi Yamazaki, the filmmaker behind "Godzilla Minus One," will move up from its February release date to January 14, 2028, to capitalize on the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend.

"24 Jump Street" is helmed by director Rodney Rothman, who previously worked on "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse," and is based on a screenplay co-written by Rothman, Jonah Hill, and Meghan Malloy. The film stars Hill, Channing Tatum, and Ice Cube, reprising their roles from the original R-rated comedy series. The producers of "24 Jump Street" include Neal H. Moritz, Phil Lord, Chris Miller, Channing Tatum, and Jonah Hill.

Ridley Scott is taking the director's chair for "Treasure Island," with Hugh Jackman portraying the infamous pirate Blackbeard alongside Hugh Grant and Owen Cooper. Jack Thorne penned the adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel, working closely with Scott and Michael Pruss to bring the story to life.
