Wukari council disowns ‘Fulani bandit’ report attributed to Aku-Uka

The Wukari Traditional Council has rejected a social media report that claimed their monarch, Dr Ishaku Adda Ali, declared that Fulani bandits had taken over the ancient Kwararafa Kingdom. The council described the report as false, misleading and likely to cause communal unrest. The statement, released by the council in Jalingo, refuted the claim made in a report titled, "We Are Under Siege: Taraba Monarch Breaks Silence as Fulani Bandits Overrun the Ancient Kwararafa Kingdom."

The council clarified that the report had misquoted the Aku Uka, including a false allegation about the monarch blaming a particular ethnic group for insecurity. The Aku Uka, according to the council, had emphasized the contributions of various communities to Nigeria's development and called for fairness, equity, justice, security and inclusion.

The council reiterated that the monarch's speech was not election-related and that he does not engage in partisan politics. They urged the public to disregard the misleading social media report.
