White Sox receive letter from Pope Leo XIV on playoff opener

Pope Leo, a long-time fan of the White Sox, penned the note, expressing gratitude to Reinsdorf for a previous letter sent following the team's tribute during an August game against Cincinnati. In the letter, Leo hoped that the White Sox would continue to promote unity and peace among people.

The White Sox earned an AL wild card spot this year with an 84-78 record, a significant improvement from their previous three seasons where they lost at least 101 games. When asked about his involvement in the team's turnaround, the pontiff commented, "No comment."
