VIP Protection Unit police boss Lazarus Opicho dies

Lazarus Opicho, the esteemed Commandant of the Security of Government Buildings (SGB) and VIP Protection Unit, has passed away, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and friendship. Bumula Member of Parliament Wanami Wamboka mourned his loss, hailing him as a professional and trusted companion. In a poignant post on social media, Wamboka recalled Opicho's bravery during a perilous period when the then-Agriculture Cabinet Secretary faced impeachment proceedings, as he personally ensured Wamboka's safety.

The MP expressed that Opicho's death marked a significant loss to his family, colleagues, and the nation. The Commandant, who held the position of Senior Assistant Inspector General of Police, oversaw the security of government premises and VIPs. Upon his death, Wamboka described Opicho's passing as an untimely tragedy, deeply felt by his family, the National Police Service, and the people of Sirende, Kiminini, and Kenya.

The MP conveyed his deepest condolences to Opicho's loved ones, emphasizing that his impact would forever be remembered.
